Content Marketing Google Penguin

Are still you developing your content and social media marketing the same way you did prior to April 24th (Pre  GPU) and scratching your head and wondering why it isn’t ranking well in Google’s Search Engines?

If you are, please take this statement away from this presentation if nothing else:

The way you promote your company through search engine optimization forever changed on April 24th and you’re wasting your time and money if you fail to change your SEO practices.” – Roy Reyer

Many of our Alumni know that we never share some of our powerful SEO tactics outside of our classroom. They also know that we also require all our students sign a privacy disclosure form.

However, I feel that it’s important to share this one tactic today publicly so you can see how our company works and for you to see our successes.

And… I’m almost certain that my partners Ginette and David are freaking out right now wondering what secret I am going to give away.

Well here it is…

“Anchor text guidelines for your articles”

I am going to use this article as an example by placing my targeted keywords in the following graphic image (Google cannot read the image) in this article.

As this graphic illustrates the abbreviation I will be using this point forward for my #1 targeted keyword in this article will be GPU so I do not dilute this keyword further.

First our research has shown that the GPU and the Google Panda Update targets 2 things, your on-page optimization and your off-page optimization.

Your on-page optimization affects over 35% of the GPU. This means that to be successful in getting your site ranked high in the SERPs your primary focus must be on-site optimization.

The following is our process of developing new articles since the GPU.

Step One: Keywords – Do keyword research to identify your targeted keyword

Step Two: Use SEO Scout to identify your top semantic synonyms and variations

Step Three: Write your article using your primary keyword phrase only once in your article or blog using the exact keyword in the title, header or body text.

Step Four: All other mentions of the keyword phrase as anchor tags will be mentioned using synonyms or other variations from our research using SEO Scout.

Step Five: Only have 3 or less targeted anchor tags within the body area of your article

Step Six: Use stop words such as click here, more info to link to other supporting articles or sales pages.

The result is greater diversify of semantically correct anchor text keywords that is targeted to our main keyword phrase.

As a person who has been in graphic design and video editing for many years, I have always had an appreciation for video content sites on the internet. I have always enjoyed surfing sites which have lots of video presentations and tutorials. I think using video to promote and to drive traffic is a powerful strategy that is only beginning to evolve. This is one way to get your blog going.

  2. Morris says:

I really appreciate and enjoyed this video lesson on page optimization using the SEO Scout. I am interested in trying this program or plugin. I have been using a Word Press plugin that is supposed to do SEO for you, but the plugin was created before the Google Penguin update. So I have my doubts about its effectiveness. I look forward to watching the webinars to learn more SEO tips.

  3. Major says:

There has been a lot of discussion about Google Penguin in the SEO community, and there will no doubt be plenty more. Some of the talk has been blown out of proportion, and the press has contributed to this. In a related story, Google CEO and Apple CEO (whoever took over after Jobbs’ death) met in a on to one meeting. I would have loved to be a fly on that wall.

Content Marketing is a hot, hot topic right now as are social media, mobile and local. Along with being a popular focus for marketers, there’s really a deluge of information being published and it’s not always clear what the best advice is. Even when you are marketing to your entire audience or customer base, you are still simply speaking to a single human at any given time. So I guess it’s better to create remarkable content that other humans can relate to.

  5. Aida says:

If I understand this correctly, content marketing is all about quality content that grabs the attention of your ideal prospects and clients. So then it makes sense that if you want to create content that engages readers, you need to know their online habits and interests. Yet how many of us post on a blog or upload a video to YouTube without taking time to survey what are our target audiences interests, wants and needs?

  6. Roy Reyer says:

Creating remarkable content that other humans can relate to is the biggest accomplishment you can do now days because there are so many people out there surfing for something that they can understand and not be confused.

  8. John says:

On its Mobile Ads blog, Google reported that popular current events generate substantial mobile search activity, as demonstrated by mobile traffic throughout the ongoing London 2012 Summer Olympics. I read that the opening ceremony resulted in massive upswings in mobile search traffic in the U. S. and Europe. For marketers, leveraging these events with relevant website content can appeal to the growing number of smartphone users searching for trending topics.

  9. Cinthia says:

I have seen some very compelling attorney sites which include content marketing and a blog that gets updated frequently. Usually, the content of a the good lawyer blogs I’ve seen contain entries based on the attorney’s actual case experience in which advice is offered or free legal pointers or even advice. Other interesting sites include a legal news feed specific to their area of expertise.

This New York Post headline of the Headless Body in Topless Bar’ is almost 30 years old. But, It would be just as effective today as it was in 1983. The lessons to be learned from it are: Be brief. Lure your readers into the story. Don’t tell too much of the story. Use precisely descriptive words. Be memorable. I doubt that anybody who ever saw this headline will have forgotten it.
