After three years of international release, Google has finally released Google MapMaker to the US market. You will now be able to add detailed information into Google Maps so others will be able to find details about businesses, parks, trails, homes, roads and etc.

This will allow organizations to build very detailed maps for special events like walk-a-thon’s, College Campus Events, Parade Routes, Rally’s, Parade of Homes and more.

You now even have the option to create detailed business information on how your customers need to come to your business location. Now they would be able to see where the best parking, and exact entrance positions are located.

Once you have created a map, you can:

• Add descriptive text, including rich text and HTML
• Embed photos and videos in your map
• Share your map with others
• View your map in Google Earth

Google is also adding a few new features to Map Maker. Beginning today, Map Maker will fully integrate with Street View so you can use current landmarks to help you edit your map. Plus, you will also have additional search options.
