  1. Hi Roy, your HTML presentation is the best I’ve seen yet compared to all the others (including some of which I bought); especially clearing up what is essential and HOW TO address them.
Haven’t attended Meetup lately because of travel and other activities (Excuses! Excuses! Here’s another – will be in NY 3rd Thurs of Jun). Planning on the July Meetup (if there is one).
I have 6 diverse websites with topics such as Leadership, Software, Golf (although I’m more of a tennis player, but audience is bigger with golf). The cooking site I show here is what I will be focusing on hereafter because of it’s potential. Just put up a YouTube cooking video:

I bought the Lynda.com html training video and your video was much better in how this ties in with SEO

    Thanks Roy!

have not been able to get google to index most pages on my site..
am Miva hosted and each product page was named in a lengthy description, most started with word store….google simply would not index.
have had several attempts to shorten and make pages more index friendly, continue to submit new sitemaps to no avail. any sugesstions?
I rank well for a number of search terms..using all I learned at your SEO workshop given by John Alexander..
    thanks..Mario simeone

@Mario, what do you have for incoming links to those pages, onsite and offsite? A big part of SEO is getting back links to your pages.

  7. Matt says:

    Hey Roy,

    Thanks for a great presentation!

I was really interested in what you said at the end about the layering of the site…. essentially getting what’s at the bottom of the page visually get read first by the engines.

I’m in the process of getting a Magento shopping cart online and will be having mostly images at the top (with keyword targeted alt tags) to help the consumer make quick purchase decisions etc. however will be having text below that for SEO purposes which I would like read first by the engines.

Do you know if that technique will work with Magento without rewriting significant chunks of the shopping carts code?

    Thanks,

    Matt
